    Handel, Messiah - Hallelujah

As i can't find it anywhere on youtube and want to share it with others, i uploaded it myself. It is really great done oratorio, recorded in 1994. I love it becuase of really great sound of men and boy's voices. The Choir of King's College, Cambridge with Stephen Cleobury did it great. Even if i am not religious the sound of voices lifts you up. I am adding also this video for the people who thinks conductor is just a not needed "maniac" waving his stick. and an old book

    Symphony No. 9 ~ Beethoven

Hello everyone! A YouTuber by the name of Michael Kirkman sent me who performed this wonderful version of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. So, basque in the heavenly glory... Original message he sent: "Found this on Wikipedia so it must be true: In 1960, [Josef] Krips recorded Beethoven's nine symphonies for Everest Records. For this set of recordings, Krips conducted the London Symphony Orchestra, and for the Symphony No. 9, the soloists included Donald Bell, baritone, Jennifer Vyvyan, soprano, Rudolf Petrak, tenor, and Shirley Carter (later known as Shirley Verrett), mezzo soprano. The BBC Chorus, under the chorusmaster Leslie Woodgate also performed. This series of recordings was popular with music critics and the public, and the recordings have been reissued several times in authorized and in bootleg editions. If, as I think it is, this is the 9th that you uploaded, it has a great pedigree and some wonderful soloists! Thanks." London Symphony Orchestra, cond. Josef Krips Soloists: Jennifer Vyvyan (EDIT), Soprano Shirley Verret, Mezzo-Soprano Rudolph Petrak, Tenor Donaldson Bell, Bass

    Alcina, Haendel Part 1/2

NEW !! This opera in one single part here : Filmé le 10.07.2015 au Festival d'Aix-en-Provence 2015.

    Hallelujah Chorus - G.F Handel

George Frideric Handel's Hallelujah Chorus from his oratorio The Messiah. It is common in performances of this piece for the audience to stand while the Hallelujah is being sung. This is reportedly because at the oratorio's premier in 1742 the present King George II stood up as this section started. Royal protocol dictates that all others must stand and thus a tradition was born (apparently!) His majesty could have stood for various reasons namely he was so moved by the music he wanted to give his appreciation or that he was signifying his obedience to the ultimate 'King of Kings' as the work described. Of course it could have been that his leg had fallen asleep!
